What it is.
The 2021 science fair was the school’s first ever completely virtual science fair, which included both a high school and middle school division open to students throughout the Simi Valley Unified School District. All of this year’s participants worked hard on conducting their research and performing their experiments, and then also created presentations and videos explaining their process and outcome of their projects. They were then interviewed by our judges. Dr. Falgun Patel, Dr. Julie Ostberg, and Dr. Vidya Kulkarni judged the high school division. Ms. Wendy Mayea and Nikita Pokala judged the middle school division. At the high school level, Katherine Krikorian and her project “Are people willing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine?” won first place, Natalie Miranda and her project “Cracking the Myth on Egg Incubation” won second place, and Sarah Wong-Moon and her project “Circadian Rhythm of Prayer Plants” won third place. At the middle school level, Pragya Agarwal and her project “Mini Maglev Trains” won first place, and Trish Subramanian and her project “Grow a stalactite” won second place. Some of our participants also went on to compete in the Ventura County Science Fair! Visit the other tabs under science fair to see their projects!
